The traditional German Christmas Market makes a welcome return to Hyde Park's WINTER WONDERLAND - doubling in size from last year. Sip a warming 'Glühwein' (German Mulled Wine) or enjoy a chilled Bavarian beer in amongst the beautifully decorated marketplace. The chalets will offer a selection of seasonal culinary specialties including Bratwurst and a German Hog Roast stall: the smell will be sure to draw you in! For those with a sweet tooth there will be roasted nuts, gingerbread hearts, confectionary & crepes and much more.
The numerous wooden chalets with special illuminations which circle Hyde Park's bandstand will sell a wide range of unusual gifts and offer a refreshing alternative to the High Street. The stalls range from the traditional to the quirky and include hand-crafted wooden and tin toys, fragile glass Christmas tree ornaments, candles in all shapes and sizes, hand-made ceramics, luxury scarves and handmade jewellery and many others, offering shopping for all ages in a magical winter atmosphere.
The entire German Christmas market is open seven days a week from 10am to 10pm, so enjoy shopping, eating and drinking in the midst of the choirs, whose carols by candlelight will surround the marketplace with the sounds of the festive season.
