Father Christmas who Time Out voted ‘Best Outdoor Experience’ will be returning to welcome children at Winter Wonderland – but this time in his very own Santa Land! There is no charge to enter Santa Land which is open from 10am to 10pm every day.
Santa Land contains numerous gentle rides & attractions including the North Pole Slide, Christmas Jumper, Balloon Ride & Elves Workshops, as well as skill games including the Chimney Challenge & Present Pile Up. For hungry visitors there is the Elves Soup Kitchen or sweet treats from the Gingerbread Sweetstore amongst many other themed chalets. This whole magical area is circled by the Santa Land Express, with its own station, bridge and level crossing!
Winter Wonderland’s Father Christmas and his entertaining elves welcome children at his grotto in the heart of Santa Land every day from 12 noon to 6pm (4pm on Christmas Eve). From Boxing Day onwards he takes well earned rest! There is no pre-purchase or ticketing system, Santa simply meets kids of all ages on a ‘first-come first-served basis’, treating children who have been very, very good to a special gift. Best of all, a visit to the Winter Wonderland Father Christmas is absolutely free!
Visitors are welcome to take their own photographs with Santa, however an official Winter Wonderland photographer will be on hand to take special photos available for purchase on the day, and there are souvenirs available from the Santa Shoppe immediately adjacent to his grotto.
Whatever your age or adrenalin limits there is an attraction at Winter Wonderland to suit. New additions for 2009 include the 66m Power Tower (not advised for those with a fear of heights!), a massive new Rollercoaster, the Black Hole ride which twists and turns at breakneck speed in the pitch dark, a dinosaur-inspired Ice Monster to experience from from the inside out, a Xmas Pirates Adventure and much, much more. |
